The Historic Place of Dubai

This was the Dubai Stadium, where on November 20, 2014, Younis Khan made history — not only by scoring a double century, but also by leading Pakistan to a historic victory over Australia in a one-sided Test match.

In the historic city of Dubai, UAE, a two-Test series was being played between Pakistan and Australia. The first Test had ended in a draw, and now it was the second Test — no one knew that history was about to be written here.

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first. The opening pair consisted of Ahmed Shehzad and Shan Masood. Pakistan lost their first wicket at a score of 87, when Shan Masood was dismissed after scoring 40 runs. Next to bat was Azhar Ali. The partnership between Ahmed Shehzad and Azhar Ali didn’t last long either, as Ahmed Shehzad was dismissed for 46 runs, leaving Pakistan at 102 for 2.

Then came the moment for the legendary Younis Khan to take the crease, batting at number four. Together, Younis Khan and Azhar Ali played brilliantly, building a strong partnership for the third wicket and adding crucial runs for Pakistan. By the end of the first day, both batsmen were still at the crease, taking Pakistan’s total to 270 runs for the loss of two wickets.
